Plymouth Assessment & Advice Service (PAAS)
PAAS
PAAS is a service based around providing in-depth housing needs assessments to people from specific client groups.
PAAS aims
To identify accommodation options and improve outcomes for specific client groups through in-depth, holistic housing assessments, advice & support.
PAAS provides
- Holistic Housing Needs
- Assessments (HNAs)
- Identifying and maximising
- appropriate housing options
- HNA reports
- Housing advice
- Time-limited support
- Sign-posting and referral to other services
Clients
PAAS works with three main groups of clients, being people who are homeless or in housing need and are:
- on criminal justice orders or discharged from HMP (prison)
- using community drugs services
- using specific community mental health services
Referrals
PAAS takes referrals only from specific services.
This means that PAAS works with:
- Offenders referred via Gateway
- People using community drugs Services; eg Harbour, Ocean Quay and Hamoaze House
- People using community mental health services: AOS, HTT, CFT
Support
Support that the PAAS can provide to clients includes:
- Housing assessment and advice
- Initial work towards independent accommodation
- Signposting to other services
Referral to services for:
- Supported accommodation
- Tenancy sustainment
