Info for possible clients

HomeFinder is for people who are:

Application

To find out if you would qualify to apply for this scheme:

Families:

If you are a single person or a couple with children that you have full time care of you will need to be seen and assessed fully by Plymouth City Councils Housing Advice team. You can phone the Housing Advice team for more information or visit Midland House to ask for an appointment.

Single/Couples:

If you are a single person or a couple without care of children then you will need to ask Plymouth City Council’s Housing Advice team for a referral to Path. To do this you can drop into Midland House and ask for a referral to Path. You will need to provide proof of your ID and have proof of your income with you in order be referred.

Under 25:

If you are under 25 then you will not automatically be referred to this service. This is because it can be very difficult to find a landlord or letting agent who will offer accommodation to younger people. As a result we would expect you to identify a potential property before we could assess your eligibility for this scheme. You will need to keep in mind that Housing Benefit will only consider you suitable for a room in a shared house or a bed-sit.
